Willow Inn Office Building

Northfield, IL

45,000 S.F.

Nestled in a residential zone just east of the Edens Expressway and across Willow Road from a Cook County Forest Preserve, this idyllic setting was the perfect site for the client’s desire to build a multi-tenant office building with a traditional residential look. Due to the large openings, the building is a steel-framed structure with exterior masonry cavity walls. The first story’s elevations consist of a tan Renaissance Stone base of alternating smooth and rustic bands. The second story is a brown, utility-size face brick. A series of synthetic slated gables balance all four facades of the building’s roof.

Though only two and a half stories in appearance, this building actually has four. Two garage doors at the west end of the front elevation lead down to underground parking. The ground floor is office space minus the ramp leading down to the parking below. The second floor is occupied entirely by the client’s business, while the fourth floor is devoted to a fitness center available only to the building’s tenants.
